PROVIDING ONLINE THERAPY ACROSS CALIFORNIA

has your child or teen been severely impacted by various events or changes in their life?

May be you’ve observed they seem more sad than usual, melancholy even, or perhaps you’ve noticed they’re more withdrawn and have lost interest in activities they once enjoyed and loved.

As a concerned parent, you may feel at loss as to where to even begin to support your child or teen.

Whatever it may be that you’re experiencing and observing, you might notice some of the following showing up in your life:

  • Constantly going over every decision you’ve made regarding your child, second-guessing yourself at every turn

  • Being severely hard on yourself when you’ve responded from a place of stress and frustration

  • Berating yourself for not handling things better

  • Engaging in a never-ending cycle of self-criticism that weighs heavily on your shoulders

  • Longing for some sense of reassurance that you’re approaching these issues in the best way possible

HOW I CAN HELP

Therapy for children and teens can support youth on the journey towards overcoming anxiety and depression and navigating grief and loss in order to cultivate acceptance, confidence, meaning, and a sense of self-expression.

It may seem unlikely now, but your child can embark on the journey towards overcoming these challenges. Your child can possess the tools to experience and cultivate qualities and character that will enable them to lean into discomfort. And I am committed to supporting you and your child towards that vision.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

While I mainly utilize play therapy (Oaklander model) and cognitive behavioral therapy, I am committed to building a comprehensive and inclusive approach that caters to the unique needs of each child and teen I work with. Overall, some of my aims are, through compassionate guidance and support, to teach children how to effectively regulate their emotions and guide and accompany them on their journey towards building confidence, developing healthy coping skills, navigating their complex emotions, discovering meaning, cultivating gratitude, and embracing self-acceptance.

Play Therapy

In the comforting realm of play, I aim to facilitate the exploration and expression of their deepest emotions while teaching them the tools to cultivate essential coping strategies. My foremost priority is the creation of a nurturing and playful space where they can experience the profound power of feeling genuinely heard, seen, and understood and are able to feel comfortable expressing themselves without judgment.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive behavioral therapy can allow children to possess practical tools and strategies to manage their emotions and navigate challenging situations. By focusing on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, CBT can empower children to identify and challenge negative or unhelpful thinking patterns. Furthermore, it encourages them to adopt healthier coping mechanisms, establish positive habits, and develop effective problem-solving skills.

Working with parents

In addition to supporting the child, I also invite having sessions as needed and depending on the client to guide and support parents. This is done by sharing resources, strategies, and effective communication techniques to better understand and assist their children at home.

By providing this support, my goal is to help deepen parents' understanding of their child's emotional well-being and empower them to be active participants in their child's therapeutic journey. I firmly believe that by involving and supporting parents in this way, we can create a collaborative, holistic approach to helping children thrive.
